A new blog devoted exclusively to prayer requests!

Hey peeps who read this blog!

At work the other day I felt the Lord drop an idea into my head about prayer and how to use the blogosphere (or whatever) to generate a lot of prayer for peoples' needs, and draw Christians closer together in unity that results from it. I also was kind of inspired by what they do at Church in the Caf during 'community prayer' time after the service when people share their prayer requests.

It's better than a message board on a website in the sense that if you bookmark this blog to your favorites, you can check it automatically by clicking on it in your favorites instead of going through pages first.

Also the purpose of this is two-fold
  1. Prayer requests are shared and posted, and visitors are encouraged to bookmark the blog, and check it consistently, as well as sharing it with their other blogging buddies to be doing the same.
  2. Testimonies are shared (thereby automatically archived over time), and those praying can see how the Lord has answered.

The first entry was posted today. There are four contributors so far and other invitations still pending. If you'd like to have something posted on it, there's still room for some more contributors. For people interested and willing to be posting threads on it, just let me know and I'll add you. For now I'd ask I guess that entries be brief, and to the point, that way once this gets snowballing we don't have so many prayer requests and testimonies going on that things get lost in the shuffle and rendered ineffective.

But we will cross bridges like that when we get to them. Also, there is a few requirements to being a contributor please;

  1. That you will actually pray,
  2. Actually believe God for the answers of the prayers you and others are lifting up.
  3. You don't use the prayer request blog to write entries other than prayer requests or testimonies. If you want to preach a sermon, you can on your own blogs.
  4. No being negative. People are sharing serious prayer requests and it serves everybody involved well if people have a cheerful positive attitude and not one of discouragement, doubt and unbelief.
  5. If you become a member, then it is asked that you link to this blog on your own blog somewhere, helping channel your readers to the requests, thereby possibly increasing the amount of Christians who will be praying.

So the link is www.requestsandtestimonies.blogspot.com and I highly encourage you to bookmark this site, and check it periodically and be praying for what gets posted on there. I think this increases readership to the prayer request blog, and the increase in readership leads to more people praying, which leads to seeing God do stuff in the lives of the people we lift up.

Where two or three are gathered in His name, He is also present, so how much more if dozens and maybe eventually hundreds of people are checking this blog then who knows what we could see happen!?

So if you'd like to be one of the contributors, just let me know and I'll add you to the list of team members. I don't see there being a limit to the number there could be on the team, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it and see how things go.

I find when people are involved in something and take some kind of ownership of it, they are more inclined to be praying for other people as they are receiving prayer themselves. This will only result in prayers being multiplied.

Check it out here.
